Richard Clarke

With over 10 years’ experience in the brewing industry Richard has a passion for all things beer and brewing. As an experienced taster and beer judge Richard has regularly delivered both formal and more informal tutored tastings.

A Dublin native, Richard started brewing with Guinness in Waterford in 2006 and followed this with a year really learning his craft at the St. James’s Gate pilot brewery (now Open Gate Brewery) before trading up to full scale stout brewing at the home of Guinness. Several years working closely with raw material suppliers at the helm of the Guinness Brewhouse developed a real passion for all things malt and hop and a real appreciation of all the inputs that collide together to deliver in every wonderful glass of beer. Currently working as third party operations manager for Europe Richard has had the opportunity to work with brewers from many different backgrounds and nations including those in UK, Germany and Belgium.
