Matthew Hocking

It was a ten-year career travelling the world as a Tour Manager in the music industry that opened Mat's eyes to the diversity of beer. It instilled a curiosity and passion that saw him switch careers and open a unique French Creperie-Café-Bar concept with his French partner Sophie in his hometown of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Influenced by the family-friendly Estaminets in Sophie's home region of Flanders France, Chez Sophie enables Mat to immerse himself in specialist world beer, hosting regular talks, tastings and a monthly beer club.
