Dr Deborah Parker
Debbie's career in brewing started as a research scientist. She manages the Sensory unit for the consumer research agency, Marketing Sciences Unlimited. An Accredited trainer, Debbie started educating brewing staff and the general public in beer flavours and beer and food pairings over fifteen years ago. Debbie has led tutored tastings at the British Embassy in Stockholm and the European Parliament in Brussels and has presented 'The Science of Beer' at the Cheltenham Festival of Science. Debbie has given interviews for BBC Radio 4 Food Programme and the World Service and given interviews for newspapers and journals. Debbie has led a beer and food evening at the Walbrook Club for Michel Roux Jnr and has published many original papers, including articles on the science behind beer and food matching. A trained taster for over 20 years, Debbie has judged at many events, including the Champion Beer of Britain at the Great British Beer Festival and the Quality Beer Food Awards
