Craig Steven

Craig started brewing at an early age, when his mother bought him a home brewing kit, as a reward for achieving a place at University. An honours degree in business was bolted on to his small batch brewing skills, as he considered brewing, might become too much of a welcome distraction when he went to Glasgow. The city did provide of course many sampling opportunities, which meant his appetite for ale, would not diminish. His pursuit of a career in beer was commenced with sales and operational roles with Edinburgh’s Caledonian Brewery, which was leading the renaissance of Scottish Brewing. He also then worked with HEINEKEN where he completed his Beer Sommelier Certification, whilst working on innovation for the UK and USA. He has worked with brewers on collaborations from Brazil to Japan. Still based in Edinburgh, he is now employed by the renowned, multi award winning, Orkney Brewery.

Craig has performed presentations and tastings all over the UK and the USA. He was one of the first few Beer Sommeliers, Certified in the UK and the 1st in Scotland..
